 About

The Issaquah alps on a very... "Pacific Northwest" day.

The First Note

For those jumping into music for the first time, balance is key. We believe that a music educator should be flexible enough to understand the student's needs and goals, but also be able to maintain a disciplined and thorough curriculum. This combination of flexibility and rigor is the foundation for musical success.

Teach In Harmony

The student-teacher relationship plays a key role in the music learning process. Being able to move a student effectively from point A to point B requires a collaborative effort and mututal interest in the student's goals: learning a song, performing on stage, writing one's own music, or what have you. It is only through a sincere investment on the teacher's part that a student will achieve, rather than lose the interest and discipline essential to advancement.

The Future Sounds Good

Music should be something that is enjoyed for a lifetime. With proper guidance and the understanding that everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace, any musical goal is achievable. Of course, a good educator is essential and here's where the good news comes in: At Eastside Guitar Star & Uke, music teaching is not a hobby or a side job as it often is for part-timers in other schools; rather, it is considered a career and a responsibility to be taken seriously.

Founder’s Notes

I started Eastside Guitar Star & Ukulele not to merely provide a basic music learning service but to create a space that actively fosters curiosity, creativity and achievement. My goal is to have every student leave the studio energized and motivated to take his or her musicality to the next level. Virtual learning platforms and interactive resources complement our traditional in-person classes, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for students from all walks of life.

Music is what I do. I am not only a music educator but also a career musician. In addition to teaching hundreds of students of every age and skill level, I've performed on prestigious stages such as Benaroya Hall, played alongside well known musicians, and recorded with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artists, as well as in top studios, such as Paul Allen's Midnight Lamp. I've been very fortunate to have had such wonderful opportunities and have built Eastside Guitar Star & Ukulele to reflect those experiences: a space in which all I've gained is shared with you.

My goal is to help my students unlock their musical potential with customized violin lessons. From learning the basics of the instrument, to mastering complex compositions, I'm here to help you develop your skills in a fun and engaging way. I believe in meeting students where they are, to help you learn at your own pace and discover the joy of playing violin.

I am an international award-winning professional musician, acknowledged by the US government as an “Artist of Extraordinary Ability”. My awards include: “Best Original Song” award at the 8 and Halfilm Awards Film Festival, held in Rome, Italy 2023; “Best Music Video” award at the Hollywood on the Tiber Film Awards festival 2023, “Best Original Composition” at the Chainsaw Game and Music Festival, USA 2021; First Prize at the International Music Composition Competition, Atlanta, GA 2021; Second Prize at the Red Maple Music Competition, Toronto, Canada 2021.

I have performed in major international concert venues such as Carnegie Hall, Davies Hall, Tchaikovsky Hall to name a few. I hold a Master Degree in Violin Performance from the Boston Conservatory of Music at Berklee. I am originally from the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat city and now call Issaquah home.

At the heart of my music teaching philosophy lies a profound commitment to motivating students to succeed. I believe that fostering a passion for music is paramount, as it serves as a powerful driving force in their musical journey. As an educator, my goal is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel inspired to explore their creativity, embrace challenges, and embrace a growth mindset. By understanding each student's unique interests, learning style, and aspirations, I strive to tailor my teaching approach, incorporating a diverse range of musical genres and pieces that resonate with their individual preferences. I emphasize the significance of setting achievable goals, celebrating milestones, and nurturing self-confidence, empowering students to overcome obstacles and reach new heights. Moreover, I encourage open communication and a sense of camaraderie within the music studio, fostering a community of musicians who inspire and support one another. Through this approach, I aim to instill not only musical proficiency, but also a lifelong love for music, ensuring that my students embark on a fulfilling and rewarding musical journey.
